  • Larji

The Sainj Valley is one of the primary access points to the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP), known for its remote charm, cultural richness, and stunning natural beauty. Stretching from Larji, where the Beas, Sainj, and Tirthan rivers meet, the valley leads deep into the park’s ecozone, offering countless trails, cultural sites, and scenic retreats.

This side of the park is ideal for those seeking solitude, rich Himalayan traditions, and a slower pace of exploration. From alpine meadows and ancient temples to trekking routes that take you closer to glaciers and wildlife, Sainj is a gateway to nature in its purest form.

Highlights of Sainj Valley

Dehuri & Nahi

These two scenic spots are located along a forest road that eventually leads to Shangarh. Dehuri is known for a serene pond and terraced fields, surrounded by lush greenery. Nahi offers expansive views of the valley and is ideal for nature walks. These areas are lesser-known but provide a quiet, untouched experience for visitors who enjoy rural Himalayan beauty.

Reached by bus via Thatibir, Panihar offers scenic vistas and a Forest Rest House, ideal for peaceful stays and nature photography.

This high-altitude destination lies deep within the park and is reached via a trek from Neuli. Known for its glacier views and colorful layered rocks, Raktisar is one of the most visually striking places in GHNP.
