Description | It is common and wingspan is 50-60mm. It is a fast flier, and being a typical butterfly of high altitude. It flies between 1200-5000m and mostly seen on flowers on sunny hill slopes and alpine meadows. The under hindwings are yellowish brown and having a large silver spots on it. The upper parts is tawny orange with small black spots and darker basal area. The host plant is viola spp. |
