Description | It is one of the commonest butterflies seen Great Himalayan National Park. It is mostly seen in open fields, scrub jungles especially where lower habitation is found. This is a low flying, sun-loving butterfly. It prefers nectar from flowers like plumbago. The caterpillar is green in colour with dark markings on its back. It feeds on flowers after they fall off, then it goes within the developing pods and begins eating the tender seeds. |
